Privacy policy
What our website collects, why, where it goes and how to ask us to see or delete it. Written in plain language under PIPEDA, Canada's federal privacy law. Last updated October 2026.
What we collect through this website
We collect only what you type into our help desk form: your name, your company, a phone number or email address, roughly how many staff you have, how urgent the request is, and your message. The form also records which page of the site you sent it from. We do not ask for passwords, payment details or files.
This policy covers itsupporthub.ca and the requests people send us through it, by email or by phone. IT Support Hub follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the federal privacy law that applies to private-sector businesses in Ontario. We are responsible for the personal information we hold, and privacy questions go to info@itsupporthub.ca.
To stop spam, the form keeps a scrambled (hashed) copy of your internet address for about 10 minutes so it can limit how many requests come from one connection. It then expires. Like most websites, our web hosting provider may also keep standard server logs, such as internet address, browser type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
Why we collect it and where it goes
We use what you send only to respond to your request. That might mean fixing a problem, answering a question, or preparing a quote. Your request goes to our help desk inbox at info@itsupporthub.ca and is saved in the website’s database, where only people who log in to manage the site can see it.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the website and our email, or when the law requires us to.
Those providers, including our web host, our email provider and Google, may store information on servers outside Canada. Information held outside Canada can be accessed by courts and authorities in that country under its laws.
How long we keep it
We keep a request only as long as we need it to answer you and follow up. If you become a client, we keep it while we work together, plus any period the law requires for business records.
After that, we delete it from the help desk inbox and the website’s database.
You can ask us to delete a request at any time, and we will do so unless the law or an open piece of work requires us to keep it. If we have to keep it, we will tell you why.
The site and the form use an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and stored requests sit behind a staff login.
Cookies and Google Fonts
This website does not use advertising cookies. The typeface on the site, Schibsted Grotesk, is loaded from Google Fonts, so when a page opens your browser asks Google’s servers for the font files and sends Google your internet address to do it. Google’s own privacy policy covers that request.
WordPress, which runs the site, may set cookies for staff who log in to manage it. Visitors who only read pages or send the form do not need to log in.
If we add analytics or any other tool that collects information about visitors, we will update this page first.
Asking to see, correct or delete your information
Email info@itsupporthub.ca to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Tell us the name and phone number or email you used so we can find it.
PIPEDA gives us 30 days to reply to a request to see your information.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. If you do, we will stop using your information, although we may not be able to finish helping with your request.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
