Four ways to buy IT support from us

Our managed IT plan costs $125 to $175 CAD per user per month. That covers unlimited remote help desk, on-site visits across the GTA, endpoint protection, email filtering, MFA setup and Microsoft 365 backup. Co-managed cover for in-house IT teams is quoted after a call. Hourly help has a rate on request, and every project gets a fixed quote first.

Co-managed

For in-house IT teams that need after-hours cover, project help or a second senior opinion.

Offices of 5 to 50 people usually weigh the managed plan against hourly help. Organizations of 50 to 250 with their own IT staff usually look at co-managed support, which is set out on the co-managed IT page.

Monthly plan, hourly help or a fixed project quote

A monthly plan suits an office that wants one team to own its IT for a predictable per-user price. Hourly help suits an office that needs a technician a few times a year. A fixed quote suits a defined job, such as a migration. You can combine them, for example a monthly plan plus a fixed quote.

Owners usually worry about the bill moving. Office managers usually worry about who picks up when something breaks. The plan answers both with one per-user price and one team to call. Hourly help can cost less in a quiet year and is harder to budget in a bad one.

What moves an office within the $125 to $175 range

Where your office lands depends on how much there is to look after per person. A one-site office on Microsoft 365 with a laptop each and no server needs less than a two-site firm with an on-premises server and an insurer asking for more.

Five things decide it. Tell us about them and we will place you.

  • Staff count. The plan is priced per user, so headcount sets the monthly total.
  • Devices per person. Someone with a laptop, a desktop and a tablet to keep secure needs more care than someone sharing one front-desk PC.
  • Servers. An on-premises Windows server, an Exchange server or a business application running in the back room adds work that a cloud-only office does not have.
  • Sites. Every extra location brings its own firewall, network and Wi-Fi, and another address for our technicians to drive to.
  • Security needs. Endpoint protection, email filtering and MFA setup come with the plan wherever you sit in the range. A client contract, a regulator or a cyber insurer that asks for more takes more setup and more checking.

What is billed separately from the plan

Four costs sit outside the per-user price: Microsoft 365 licences, hardware, Azure usage and major projects. We keep them separate so you can see each one on its own, compare it with other quotes and control it.

Microsoft sets its own licence prices, and Azure costs depend on how much you use.

  • Microsoft 365 licences. You pay for the licence each person needs, such as Business Basic, Standard or Premium. We buy and manage them for you if you want, but the licence cost is separate from our support price.
  • Hardware. Laptops, desktops, servers, firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi access points. We quote them before ordering and set them up when they arrive.
  • Azure usage. Virtual machines, storage and other Azure services are billed by how much you use, so they appear as their own line on your bill.
  • Major projects. Work that changes your setup, such as a Microsoft 365 migration, a firewall replacement, a Wi-Fi refresh, a server replacement or a batch of Windows 11 upgrades, gets a fixed quote agreed before work starts.

The IT services page explains where day-to-day support ends and project work begins.

Two worked examples

A 10-person office on the managed plan pays between $1,250 and $1,750 a month for support, before licences and hardware. A 100-person organization could do the same arithmetic, but many offices that size have IT staff of their own and talk to us about co-managed support, which we quote after a call.

A 10-person office

Ten people, one location, a laptop each, email and files in Microsoft 365, and no IT person on staff.

  • Lower end: 10 users × $125 = $1,250 a month
  • Upper end: 10 users × $175 = $1,750 a month

With one site and no server, an office like this has few of the factors that push the price up. Add an on-premises server, a second location or a cyber insurer asking for more controls and it moves up. Microsoft 365 licences and any new laptops are added on top at their own cost. If this sounds like your office, IT support for small offices compares the plan with hourly help.

A 100-person organization

On the managed plan the arithmetic would be 100 users × $125 = $12,500 a month at the lower end and 100 users × $175 = $17,500 at the upper end. Many organizations this size already employ an IT manager or a small team, though, and want our technicians to work alongside that team. That is co-managed support. We price it after a call about who does what today, which hours you need covered and which projects are coming up.

Questions people ask

How much do managed IT services cost in Toronto?

With us, $125 to $175 CAD per user per month on the managed plan. For that price you get unlimited remote help desk, on-site visits across the GTA, security tools and Microsoft 365 backup, with licences, hardware, Azure usage and major projects billed separately. When comparing providers, line up what each price includes as well as the number itself.

Is IT support priced per user, per device or by the hour?

It depends on how you buy. Our managed plan is priced per user per month. Pay-as-you-go support is billed by the hour, with the rate given on request. Projects are priced as one fixed amount agreed before work starts. Co-managed support for organizations with their own IT staff is quoted after a call.

Is a monthly plan cheaper than paying by the hour?

It depends on how often your staff need help. With hourly help you pay for the time used, so a quiet month costs nothing. The managed plan is one set price per user each month and includes security tools and Microsoft 365 backup, which hourly help does not. Offices that call most weeks usually find the plan easier to budget.

Is Microsoft 365 backup included, or is that extra?

Yes, backup is part of the managed plan. The Microsoft 365 licences themselves are not, because Microsoft sets those prices and different staff may need different licences. We can buy and manage the licences for you, and the licence cost appears as its own line, separate from our per-user support price.

Is there a minimum commitment or a long contract?

There is no long lock-in on the managed plan. If you would rather not commit to a monthly plan at all, pay-as-you-go hourly help is available with the rate given on request, and a single job can be done on its own fixed quote. Ask on the call about anything in the agreement you want explained.

What happens if we leave?

On the managed plan, you keep ownership of your Microsoft 365 tenant and your admin access, and we hand over your documentation. There is no long lock-in. Whether you move to another provider or to your own IT staff, they can pick up from that documentation without rebuilding your setup.
