In this case study, we examine the unique challenges and solutions involved in designing and implementing a network cabling infrastructure for a new office located in downtown Toronto. The office, which spans five floors of a heritage building, is home to a fast-growing technology company that requires a robust, secure, and scalable network infrastructure to support its diverse team and operations.

  • Fiber optic backbone: A fiber optic backbone was implemented to connect each floor and provide high-speed data transmission between floors.
  • Wireless access points: To further optimize connectivity and minimize cable usage, wireless access points were installed throughout the office, ensuring comprehensive Wi-Fi coverage.
  • Compliance and preservation: Coordination with local authorities and heritage preservation specialists ensured that all network installations adhered to building codes and preserved the architectural integrity of the building.
  • Future-proofing: Additional cable pathways and network infrastructure were installed to accommodate future expansions and technology upgrades.
